  • The family had a fun night together celebrating, with drinks, music, and even an impromptu show from Madonna's daughter Lourdes.
  • Madonna recently recovered from a life-threatening bacterial infection and is grateful to be alive, planning to go on tour later this year in both Europe and the United States.

Who's that girl? Madonna is no stranger to throwing lavish birthday parties. This past weekend, the Material Girl did just that, and was joined by her 29-year-old boxer boyfriend as she celebrated her 65th birthday alongside her kids.

Over the weekend, Madonna went all out as she celebrated her 65th birthday in Lisbon, Portugal. While she was joined by her children, Lourdes, 26, David Banda, 17, Mercy James, 17, and 10-year-old twins Stella and Estere, it was her oldest son Rocco, 23, that the attention revolved around momentarily, as he was introduced to Madonna's boyfriend, Joshua Popper, for the first time.

While there were no reports about how the meeting went between the two, according to The Sun, the family celebrated the night away together. An indication that there was no bad blood between Rocco or Joshua.

For the evening, the drinks were flowing, the music was playing, and Lourdes even put on an impromptu show for her mother. And in true Madonna fashion, the Like A Virgin singer put together an outfit that was both sexy and fashionable, by wearing a black lace bra, corset, and an oversized black silk shirt with matching pants.

Madonna and her newest boyfriend first met earlier this year while Joshua was in the boxing ring. He was training David, and from all reports, the sparks were instant.

Given the timeline that the two have been together, it lines up with Joshua being a part of Madonna's life when she suffered a life-threatening bacterial infection. An experience that after living through, Madonna says she is grateful to be alive.

Madonna Is Grateful To Be Alive

To commemorate the grand celebration, Madonna posted a short video to Instagram that showed snippets of the evening. It was the caption, however, that showed just how grateful Madonna was to be alive.

"It’s great to be Alive….. and Amazing to Be able to put on my dancing shoes and Celebrate my Birthday!" Madonna wrote. "I'm So Grateful. Thank you Lisbon and to all who made it possible!"

This post comes just a short couple of months after Madonna was diagnosed with a life-threatening bacterial infection. The condition is speculated to be sepsis, although Madonna has never come out to say specifically what the infection was that caused her to be found unconscious while going through grueling predatory work for her upcoming tour.

After spending several days in the ICU, Madonna was released to her home to recover.

While it would have taken most people months or more to recover, Madonna has seemingly bounced back and is planning on touring as scheduled later this year.

Madonna Plans To Go On Tour Later This Year

Madonna initially planned on touring in the United States before she went overseas. After she had to postpone those dates as a result of her bacterial infection, however, it was unclear when Madonna would tour again, even though she promised to make up dates.

Madonna recently made the decision to have the US leg follow her European portion of the tour. As such, none of her fans will be missing out on what is surely to be one of Madonna's most iconic tours to date.

The Celebration Tour is scheduled to kick off in London. The tour across the pond will run from October through December.

Giving herself just a week or so in between the legs of the tour, Madonna will then kick off her US tour in December, which will run through April.

In an announcement that accompanied the newest tour schedule last week, it was clear that Madonna wanted to make sure that all of her fans that wanted to see her, had the opportunity to.

"Madonna regrets the inconvenience to fans and hopes to make it up to those markets in the future," the announcement from Live Nation read.

Whether this means that there will be additional dates after April is unclear. But with the extremes that Madonna has always lived her life, it would not be unheard of for her to push herself to give her all to her fans, all of which hope does not come at the cost of her health again.
